Hair Loss Problems And Treatments

Worldwide, the concept of beauty has included a common concept: lush beautiful healthy hair. For this very reason, hair loss is so dreaded. Hair loss can be a nightmare if unchecked and not treated. It can even lead to baldness. Fortunately, hair loss treatments are now available which not only prevent hair loss but also enable hair regrowth.

Internationally, greater than 50% of the male population goes through male pattern baldness. There is a social stigma connected with it. On the whole, it is an opinion amongst a lot of people that bald men are not as good-looking as men having a full head of hair. Excessive hair loss can reduce your self esteem. From time immemorial, it has been the outlook that abundant, thick hair is a sign of good health and beauty. If hair loss happens at a youthful age, it is even more complex to deal with. It can cause a lot of stress for the adolescent, leading to more hair loss. Yes, tension is one of the major causes of hair loss. Retaining great hair is considered equivalent to retaining youth, as baldness is regarded as an indication of getting old. It can lead to reduced confidence and self esteem, as they say that when you look good you feel good.

As a result, there is a vast demand for any and every kind of treatment which promises to treat hair loss and promote hair regrowth. Many hair loss treatments are available in the market; choices vary from drugs to herbs to surgery. Finasteride (Generic Propecia) is one of the two drugs officiated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for male baldness. Finasteride brings down the escalation of DHT, the most important substance responsible for causing hair loss in men. Within days of taking the medicine, the levels of DHT have been seen to be reduced considerably. Sustained dosage of 1mg every day is to be taken, for at least six months. Nonetheless, the remedy is meant only for men, and should not be consumed by women. Also, there are certain side effects associated with this hair loss treatment like reduced sex drive, but otherwise it is safe to be used by men.

At the moment, for the reason of the enormous popularity and demand of this hair loss treatment, it has become available online and you can buy Propecia from websites. Many a time, the medicine is pricier in the market than at the websites, and so a lot of people prefer to buy Propecia online. Furthermore, when you buy it online, you can first read all about the product on the website, and then make an educated decision. Some websites are purely dedicated to selling Propecia so you don’t have to hunt the market or pharmacy websites for Propecia. You can buy all your supplies at one place, ensuring that you save time and energy.

How to Have a Healthy Dog

Being the owner of a long hair Chihuahua, I have learned that the health of my dog is a major concern. At ten years of age, my dog Paco is beginning to feel the ravages of time. After consulting with friends and local vets, I found that dogs are much like humans where physical afflictions are concerned. They experience disease of the heart, lungs, eyes, bone and joint and can find themselves suffering from cancer. As a pet owner such possibilities weigh heavily on my mind. The same can be said for all pet owners. We can assure the healthy well being of our pets with a little observation and early treatment of any and all conditions.

Dependent upon specific breeds and their individual needs, general recommendations are made by the vet to guarantee good health for your pet. By following these tips you are well on the way to ensuring a long and healthful life for your pet. The basic suggestions include a good diet, exercise, observation and a whole lot of loving.

When feeding your dog, shy away from giving them any human foods. It is hard to deny them with those big brown eyes tearing at your heart strings. Feed your dog only dry dog foods such as the dry kibble type. Restrain from giving the wet type of foods so as to avoid digestive problems and rotting teeth. Definitely do not feed your dog any sweets (especially chocolates) raw pork, fish and chicken bones. These can be potential hazards to their life. Always, remember to have fresh water available no matter where they are.

Speaking for myself only, I am always in the need of a little exercise. What better way to kill two birds with one stone than by taking a brisk everyday with my dog. A small breed like my Chihuahua will create exercise for himself while inside the home. This is not so easy for the larger breeds. If you allow them to go outside during the day, observe whether they exercise or merely find a rest spot until it is time to return inside. Remember, having a pet is like having a child. It involves responsibility and commitment on your part. Encourage your dog to exercise whether either of you really feels like doing so. You will both benefit from it.

By paying attention to your dog’s actions on a daily basis, you may avoid some very costly conditions. Check their behavior to see if they may be lethargic in their activities. Are they eating and drinking water normally? Have they ever experienced more than usual salivating, or physical seizures? Do they appear to be tearing more than usual? Check with your local vet if any of these conditions occur. They may be symptoms of something much worse. Have your dog checked for heartworms and even genetic conditions. Regular visits to the vet are recommended in conjunction with close record keeping of all visits, vaccinations and conditions.

The one thing I give my dog, every moment of every day, is a whole lot of loving. And, he loves me too. We have an almost symbiotic relationship with a lifelong bond that will not be broken. He came into my life and turned it upside down before making things completely right. His health and happiness is definitely linked to his well being. When that is not enough, I make sure to involve my local vet.

These are a few things that I know to hold true when caring for a dog or any other pet. Follow these simple suggestions and you, and your pet, will live long rewarding lives. The tips above are those learned through real life conditions.

Hair Loss Remedies

Once you have determined the cause of your hair loss, you will find there are a variety of hair loss remedies – some natural, some medical, and some cosmetic. Your dermatologist can help you find the right solution. Over the past few years, medical treatment of hair loss has grown tremendously – in some cases, learning what causes the hair loss enables drugs to be made that can stop the hair loss before it happens.

Finasteride (propecia) is a female hair loss remedy that has been approved for hair loss treatment in men. But it has recently been found to help improve hair loss problems in women when combined with oral contraceptives. Propecia has some side effects, albeit only 3%. Often, these side effects subside after constant use.

And if you do finally decide to seek out the best hair loss remedies then you should be well educated and able to differentiate the snake oil from the real and very effective hair loss remedies that are available on the market. Because there are some very good ones out there. And some very bad ones. Make sure you know which is which.

It’s possible that correcting a hormone imbalance may prevent further hair loss. Poor digestion, parasites and nutrient deficiencies such as iron or biotin deficiency shouldn’t be overlooked as possible causes too. And alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder also known as “spot baldness” that can result in hair loss ranging from just one area to every hair on the entire body.

Recognizing and properly treating an infection may help stop the loss. If the thyroid gland is either overactive or underactive, hair may fall out. However treating thyroid disease will remedy this. Poor digestion, parasites and nutrient deficiencies such as iron or biotin deficiency shouldn’t be overlooked as possible causes.

Some of the hair loss prevention products (that by no means are natural hair loss remedies on the market today) are Propecia, Rogaine (Monoxadil), Avacor and Proxiphen. However, taking prescription or non-prescription hair loss prevention products , such as Propecia, Rogaine (Monoxadil), Avacor and Proxiphen are for me just adding more problems as possible side-effects are usually part of the big problem.

In response to the needs of the people struggling with acute hair loss, then, a huge number of loss of hair treatment aids have been developed. So great is the number of these treatments for loss of hair that a person looking to enlist their help is almost certain to find themselves spoilt for choice in making a decision as to what hair loss remedy to use; especially given that most of these hair loss remedies are being sold commercially and each clams to be the very best.

Male Hair Loss Treatments

Male hair loss treatments are big business. That is because for many men, losing their hair as they age is a devastating experience. It can happen at any age following puberty and has a number of causes. For these reasons there are huge numbers of men looking for an effective male hair loss treatment.

To stop the manufacture of DHT you can either get a prescription for the drug finasteride (Propecia) or go the all-natural route with a saw palmetto supplement. Finasteride is FDA approved and study after study has shown that it is extremely effective at blocking DHT and restoring hair growth.

When it comes to choosing a male hair loss treatment, the choices may seem overwhelming. While there are many products available, it is important to choose the treatment option that works best for your current condition and lifestyle.

Minoxidil – a solution that you apply directly to the scalp to stimulate the hair follicles. It slows hair loss for many men, and some men grow new hair. The previous degree of hair loss returns when you stop applying the solution.

Take the time for a minute to look at a male hair loss treatment that’s both effective as well as cheap. Saw palmetto extract is such an herb that serves the purpose of regrowing your hair. You’ve more than likely heard of how it protects the prostate gland.

The last option for male hair loss treatment is the use of certain vitamins. Multivitamins have been proven not only to make you healthier overall, but to assist in the growth of new hair. Specialty vitamins have also been developed to increase the health of hair follicles and promote new hair growth.

Another hair loss treatment that a person might consider are prescription medications that can slow down the hair loss, or herbal treatments that have shown to do the same. There are also laser treatments that show some promising results but your best bet with those is to ask around in your area.

In the non-surgical process or in simple words medication, medicines like Propecia and Regaine are used. Propecia balances DHT, the hormone responsible for baldness and shortens the time of hair growth. On the other hand Regaine assists blood circulation on the scalp and helps the hair to grow faster.

You should take a look at some of the symptoms of people who are suffering from thyroid dysfunction or vitamin deficiency, as you may find, to your surprise, that you are experiencing some of these same symptoms. Fortunately, thyroid dysfunction and vitamin deficiency are typically relatively simple to treat.

A male hair loss treatment will efficiently take care of this problem. You have many options available to you on the market. Many are finding natural remedies to be a great source for ending baldness. Many herbal supplements are able to reverse balding in men and increase hair count that leads to androgenetic alopecia.

Instead of looking at male hair loss treatments as only conventional medicine vs alternative medicine, why not use both? Both side have a lot to bring to the table when it comes to getting back your full head of hair. Wouldn’t it make sense to take the best of both worlds to give you the best chance for success?

10 Tips to Prevent Hair Loss

In addition, Propecia may result in the new growth of hair, particularly in the crown area of the head.
  2. Use Rogaine (Minoxidil)- Both men and women who have noticed their hair thinning can benefit from this. Rogaine is a topical medication which is available over the counter in drug stores. We are not quite sure how it works, but when used twice a day it results in much less hair loss and some re-growth of hair in the crown. Most men use the 5% foam and women tend to start with the 2% version. Minoxidil was once a high blood pressure medication, but doctors began noticing that patients who took it developed increased hair growth.
  3. Try the Laser Comb- Various wavelengths of laser light are known to stimulate hair growth. The FDA has approved several commercial laser applications and portable laser combs for home use. These devices can be used up to 3 times per week for 20 minutes and result in a mild but significant increase in hair density. The only problem with this treatment is compliance, meaning that they only work if you remember to regularly use them.
  4. Avoid Scalp Sunburn- burns are bad for our skin and bad for our hair. If your hair has thinned, more UV light is reaching your scalp and can potentially damage the hair follicles. If you plan to go out on a sunny day, wear a hat and in addition apply a spray sun block to the scalp with protection of SP15 or more.
  5. Know Your Family Tree- it is very important to know that patterned baldness in both men and women is inherited from our ancestors. Therefore if your relatives have lost their hair, you stand a good chance to do the same. I see too many patients wait too long to come in for preventative treatment which could save several years worth of lost hair. If hair loss runs in your family, call a hair loss specialist at the first signs of hair loss or visible thinning. Prevention works better than treatment.
  6. Avoid Tight Braids- an interesting and common cause of hair loss is traction alopecia. People who braid their hair very tightly and in rows can cause a great deal of tension on the hair follicles. Over time this can result in significant and permanent hair loss. This is very commonly seen in African Americans.
  7. Check Your Thyroid Function- low thyroid hormone can definitely result in hair loss. This is more common in women than men. Other symptoms of hypothyroidism are weight gain, tiredness, dry skin and swelling. You should talk with your personal physician about checking your thyroid function, especially if you have any of these symptoms.
  8. Keep Track of Your Blood Count- anemia or low blood cell count can definitely contribute to hair loss. Hair follicles are very metabolically active and require a great deal of oxygen to function normally. It is our red blood cells which carry that oxygen to our cells. If you are anemic for any reason, your hair density may suffer. It is a good idea to have your blood count checked by your personal physician on an annual basis.
  9. Tell Your Doctor About New Scalp Rashes, Scales, and Sores- Not all hair loss is genetic. Rarely, various skin diseases that affect the scalp can cause hair loss. If you notice any new scalp rashes or redness, pustules, flakes, or sores, make sure to tell your doctor and seek the advice of a dermatologist.

10. Avoid Severe Stress- Stress can result in hair loss. The most common examples are the stress of rapid weight loss and the stress of pregnancy. I understand that stress is often unavoidable in our society, but paying attention to techniques that can help control your stress such as daily exercise, music and friendship can also potentially benefit your hair.
